    Pig-Tails Accomplished!

Rebecca has insisted on piggy-tails everyday since Mom has been gone–no small accomplishment for a Dad. I drew the line when she asked for “braided pig-tails.”

    Pig-tails. Accomplished!

    How did we do Mom?

    They're in Cambodia

They have arrived. Looks like they spent the day adjusting to the time, visiting the Killing Fields, and eating their first local food. Read more on the team blog.

Ok I am not sure how to do this, Heather, I am praying for you throughout each day. Praying for each girl you reach. You are an amazing woman! Love Robin

Thanks. We’ve actually already made it through two days now.

Heather is just probably glad to be done traveling. I managed to get everyone to school. Karen was a gem and watched Rebecca, which let me squeeze in a work day. And everyone is feed, bathed, and in bed ready for a new day.

All I can say is I’m giving Heather a raise when she gets home :)

    Prayer and Words of Encouragement

Well, the team is checked-in and about to head to Cambodia. This blog is going to be Heather’s only communication back to all of you wonderful people who are praying and supporting her. She may or may not get the opportunity update it during the trip (there will definitely be updates, pictures, and videos after the trip).

However, I know she would love to see all of your prayers, comments, and words of encouragement when she does check-in. Please hit the “Reply” link and leave a quick comment.

Heather…missing you already, praying for you as well as your entire group. May God keep you all sheltered by His love and guidance. You are truly a phenomenal person, friend, mother and wife. How blessed I have been since God brought you into my life when we moved here. There won’t be a moment you are not thought of while you are gone. With much love, Holly

Knowing that you will be removing children from a desperate and dangerous situation should help encourage and uplift you. Your mission may be only two weeks, but the impact on the children will last a lifetime. Godspeed.

Good luck with everything, Heather! 82 degrees in Cambodia… I’m a bit jealous now I think ;) Your favorite liberal is very proud of you and your work! I’ll inform my mom of your mission and have her neo-catechumenal community keep you in their prayers!

Rapha House Mission Team Heads to Chicago

The Twin Oaks Christian Church Rapha House mission team has hit their first unexpected snag–tomorrow’s flight from Detroit to Chicago was cancelled. However, this team was not to be deterred from God’s mission.

They rallied at the church, packed a couple of vehicles, and are off to Chicago tonight.

Here are a few quick video clips of the hasty loading and goodbyes:

Pray for their safe travels as they head to Chicago and try to get out safely tomorrow morning.

They all arrived safely in Chicago at about midnight last night. Now pray for a break in the weather to get their plane out and off to their first stop–Seoul, Korea.
